two experiments at once: creamsicle cake (vegan white cake mix + orange soda) baked in the crock pot (since our gas was still shut off yesterday)

i wasn’t sure how soda could properly substitute for the 2/3 cup of oil and 3 egg whites the cake mix called for, but it actually turned out really well. i poured the mix into the crock pot and it cooked on low heat for about three hours. the result was a super-moist, orange and vanilla vegan treat that altogether cost less than $1. The cake mix from Aldi was 99 cents and the 2L bottle of soda was also 99 cents — I used only a tiny bit of the soda and half of the cake mix. baking success!

This cakes was CRAZY good. Sorry we ate so much of it :(
